Sicriptin is a dopamine agonist, prescribed for Parkinson’s disease either alone or with other medications. Sicriptin (Bromocriptine) is used in type 2 diabetes, increased prolactin levels, female infertility (inability to become pregnant) and acromegaly.
Sicriptin treats increased prolactin level (hyperprolactinemia) by decreasing the amount of prolactin in the body which helps in fertility and period problems ( usually caused by not having the right amount of prolactin). Sicriptin treats acromegaly by decreasing the amount of growth hormone in the body.
Common side effects: drowsiness, confusion, hallucination, constipation, dizziness, dizziness on standing, dry mouth, hair loss, headache, itching, feeling of discomfort, muscle cramp, swelling, nasal congestion, restlessness, skin swelling, skin redness, fatigue.
